hey it's me again

I all I have been sick again but I hope to be back much more often and hope you all start coming backand see some of my new stuff. I'm finaly feeling a lot better and will around much more and bringing some more thoughts and what I'm up to more. Well I got DH a Kuerig for Christmas , but only because it cost me $19.97 brand new. No sorry it's not some great deal for the masses.....They discontinued a product I perchased about 3 1/2 years ago and couldn't sell me a replacement seal so they considered it defective and gave me a member credit and I used it toward the Kuerig for DH now that is great service!! So, from an old grandma if you've never bought and/or watched QVC check them out *nods, nods,* Christmas was surely sparce this year as it was for many especially for those families who had a father/mother/son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter/etc. away from them this past season. We here in our family are still praying that they will all come home soon safe and sound. And as always to all of you reading ..........

Hi Again

Hi all I know it's been ages since I've visited here but it just seems the last few months it's a flair up here , there and everywhere, of this or that or the other. It's no fun getting old when you are sick.
Family life has been crazy since Christmas too. My wonderful husband won $5,000 in an online sweepstakes. After paying off several medical bills so we would be clear of them we had enough to really spoil our grandchildren at Christmas. They loved it! We got our grandson exactly what he asked for and more as he only asked for 3 reasonable items. My granddaughter had a HUGE scroll list and amazingly we didn't give her even one gift on her list. Instead we got some High end items she was always asking for and we said were too expensive and she agreed that her Grandparents ideas of what to get her were MUCH better than hers. So Christmas Eve was just great.
Starting Christmas day daughter in law moved out with some "friends" she just came back 3 weeks ago more than broke because the "friends" milked her for all they could get. Perfect timing, we are low on food, Hubbies hours have been cut to parttime, with my disability I'm on a very small fixed income.
I know the Lord doesn't give us more than we can handle but I really wish He didn't come so close *soft laugh* With the Lord's help and the prayers and love from other's we'll get by, not easily but we will get by.
Well as always I will try to get here more often, but that will all depend on my medical condition. Until then have a

Been Gone for A Bit

I know I haven't been posting much. Went through a bit of a bad spell and still on the tail end of it. Back in July of last year I went to a doctor's appointment and he said "that's it Cathie, you can't keep up at this rate. You aren't going back to work" So now when I have my bad days instead of killing myself working 8 hours then trying to do anything to the house I try and gather my strength to get better. Sometimes it takes longer than others.

I thought I'd tell the story about why I say to have a grandmalicious day. My granddaughter was about 3 or 4 and already used to being in the kitchen with me, helping out. She loved to wash the chicken before I put it in the oven and to watch it get golden brown through the window. One day I let her wash the chicken I put it in the oven and she helped check it. She picked just when it was ready to come out of the oven. My husband was working a later shift and she was gone by the time he ate dinner. He called her up to tell her that the chicken she'd "made" was the BEST in the world. She asked to talk to me. When I got on the line she excitedly said. "Grandpa says the chicken is the Best in the world grandma That's ALMOST as good as yours!!" I answered "almost?" and she said " yes grandma you make everything grandmalicious, when I'm with you I have a grandmalicious day!" So now I wish you a grandmalicious day, full of good things and people you love.

Have a grandmalicious day!!

Just Checking In

Well I've been spending my week looking for that elusive craft project. I've got to start my Christmas crafting now or Christmas will be here and I'll be rushing. Just like last year LOL...

I've been searching for some Plastic Canvas patterns for play/pretend food. I can't find any of course. The one pattern I latched on to on E-bay slipped thru my fingers when I came back from the doc's feeling worse then I left and laid down for a few minutes and woke up 3 hours later. Doesn't that just take the cake.

If any of you out there know of or have such a pattern I'd be pleased to find any *grins*.

Other than the weather changing and changing back making me hurt like the dickens nothing much else to report. I'm still entering those lovely sweeps and will keep you all up to date on them here and on Twitter.

One of the Best Dolls Ever

I've always wanted to win one of these dolls ever since I first learned of them. They are beautiful and the type of "role models" I like for my granddaughter.
Now I and anyone who would like one have a chance to win one over at Simply Moms. http://simplybeingmommy.com/
You can even choose which doll you want.
If you don't have anyone to give the doll to you can just tell her to send it to me. lol.

Someone Might Care

Not sure anyone will care about the musings of a Grandma. Thought I would try anyway. Not even sure how this will all go but it may keep me out of trouble. Then again if there is trouble to find I usually find it.....

Most blogs I see and read are from women who are just starting there families and/or have young children. I on the other hand have raised my child and am now dealing with grandchildren and life on the downside of life's hill.
There are a lot of us and maybe they will post here and relate to the thoughts of this sweeping, reading, crafting Grandma.

We'll see.
